Walking Beside Families When It Matters Most
Palliative and end-of-life care
When someone you love is nearing the end of life, every moment together feels precious. Yet the demands of caregiving, such as managing medications, attending appointments, sleepless nights, and the constant worry of "Am I doing enough?" can feel overwhelming. Families are often stretched thin, torn between being a carer and being the partner, child, or sibling they long to be.
At Florence at Home, we understand this weight. Our role is to step in and gently lift some of the burden from your shoulders. We bring professional care and a calming presence into the home so you do not have to carry it all alone. With us by your side, you can focus on what truly matters: holding hands, sharing stories, creating memories, and simply being present in love.
This is not just about clinical care. It is about giving families the gift of time together, time that is free from worry, time that feels safe, and time to connect in ways that will be remembered long after.

What We Provide
At Florence at Home, we support people who prefer to live, and where possible, pass at home, surrounded by familiarity, love, and dignity. Our specialist nursing care aims to keep comfort, respect, and connection at the centre of every step.
We provide in-home palliative and end-of-life care tailored to each person’s needs. This includes:
-
Symptom management (pain, breathlessness, nausea, etc.)
-
Medication support and monitoring
-
Emotional and psychological support for the individual and their family
-
Carer education and guidance so you feel confident in daily care
-
Coordination with GPs, specialists, and hospital palliative teams
To ensure clarity and set expectations, overnight care is provided only during end-of-life (dying-phase) support. In those final days, we can offer continuous overnight nursing to uphold comfort and dignity.
For other times outside standard business hours, after-hours care may be available by discussion and arrangement, depending on individual needs and circumstances. We always aim to be transparent and collaborative, ensuring every care plan reflects what you and your family feel is appropriate and sustainable.

Our Philosophy
At Florence at Home, we see nursing as both a science and an art. It is about skilled clinical care, but equally about listening, presence, and respect.
We believe that true care happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported as whole human beings. Every home we enter is different, and every family carries its own story. Our role is to honour those stories by respecting each person’s wishes and providing care with compassion, gentleness, and dignity.
This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do and is shaped by the experience and vision of our founder, Fiona Antony.

Funding & Access
Florence at Home is a private nursing service, which means there are no waiting lists, no assessments, and no referrals required. You can simply get in touch when support is needed, and care can begin as soon as possible.
Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis. We understand that every family’s situation is different, so we take the time to discuss costs openly and honestly, ensuring there are no surprises. In some cases, funding may be available through schemes such as the NDIS, and we are happy to explore these options with you.
Our aim is to make access simple and stress-free, so you can focus on what matters most — being with your loved one at home.
If you would like to talk about how we can support your family, please reach out — we are here to listen and help.

Advance Care Planning
One of the most important questions you can ask at this stage is, “Does my loved one have an Advance Care Plan?”
Advance Care Planning (ACP) is about making sure your loved one’s wishes are clearly known if there comes a time when they cannot speak for themselves. It sets out what matters most to them — the type of care they would want, their preferences for comfort, and even where they would like to be cared for.
Having an ACP in place can bring enormous peace of mind. Families often find that:
-
Your peace of mind: You have the comfort of knowing there is a plan in place.
-
Your loved one’s voice is heard: Their wishes are respected and the care they want is honoured.
-
Easing the burden for you: Families feel less stressed and more confident because decisions have already been made clear

Real Experiences,
Real Voices
Every family’s situation is different, and no two journeys of care are the same. That is why we share both case studies and testimonials — to show how support works in practice, and to let you hear directly from the people we have walked alongside.
Case studies highlight real-life situations and how care was tailored to each person’s needs. Testimonials give voice to clients and families in their own words. Together, they provide an honest picture of the difference compassionate, nurse-led care can make at home.
